The Law Offices of Melanie Balestra focuses on legal, transactional, and business issues that affect all health care providers including but limited to nurse practitioners, nurses, physicians, physical therapists, pharmacists and dentists. She represents health care providers before their respective Boards in California and Arizona. Laws that govern the practice of medicine, nursing, physical therapy and pharmacy are very different than laws governing other professions. A complaint against a health care professional may not be true but can be a difficult, expensive and damaging experience.
Ms. Balestra not only practices law but continues to be actively involved in her profession as a pediatric nurse practitioner 20 hours a month at the Laguna Beach Community Clinic in Laguna Beach California. She has served in volunteer positions on the California Association for Nurse Practitioners and the American College of Nurse Practitioners. She currently services on the Nurses Services Organization Advisory Board and is an active member of The American Association of Nurse Attorneys.
Ms. Balestra has lectured on contract negotiations, medical-legal issues and reimbursement issues at health care provider conference throughout the United States.
